A Fullness in Brevity - Adam Byatt 
If you want to add it as a download, you should be able to upload a copy to your media library [On your dashboard go to Media – Add new]. After it uploads, copy the File URL provided [should look something like https://afullnessinbrevity.files.wordpress.com/2011/12/filename.pdf%5D. Then use that as the address to create a link in your post.
If it is in PDF format it may open in a browser window and readers can save a copy from there. Other formats may prompt for a location to save when readers click the link.
